Canterbury Ice Hockey League: Premier Division

2025 Premier Division Player Registration

The CIHL Premier Division is Canterbury's highest level of adult recreational, non-checking play. Players are assigned to teams through a draft process for balance and to create a fresh, social, competitive playing environment each year.
SAVE THE DATE: OCTOBER 2, 2025 at 8pm: DRAFT NIGHT AT THE BEALEY
A social Premier Draft Night will be held Thursday, October 2 where draft picks will be imbibed while draft picks are announced. Which Team Will You Receive? More details TBA, but save the date!
Format and Schedule (Subject to Change)

Prem players are drafted onto teams (4 teams of ~13 skaters + 1 goalie expected)

18 game season Thursdays 8p & 9.30p, expected season from Oct 9 to late March or early April

Players should be Grade 1 or solid Grade 2 level age 16+ (as at March 31, 2026)
Prices and Registration

$TBA initial payment to register for the season, followed by 4 instalment payments of $TBA on the 1st of each month Nov-Feb ($TBA total, or save $30 and pay $TBA for the entire season in advance)

Undrafted players will be fully refunded; undrafted goalies will be placed on a priority list for substitute play
- CIHA and IHNZ memberships required and will be added to your online cart if you don't already have them

Late registration only accepted if there is space on a team.
